Namaste,
I am Smita Daya, an Ayurveda Health Coach and Chef. I am often asked how I got involved in Ayurveda and I guess I was involved even before I realized it. Many of my lifestyle routines, mantra chanting, and dietary habits were naturally ‘Ayurvedic’, taught by my mother in my youth. She was my inspiration. I quickly became curious about our day-to-day rituals and food habits from her. Over the years she kept sharing lifestyle tips and new recipes with me and would guide me every step of the way.
After working in corporate for over 25 years, I decided, it was time to follow my true passion for wellness and healthy eating. Learning Ayurveda and having the opportunity to share it with others has been a deeply humbling experience. I continue to expand my knowledge by attending workshops, seminars, and courses.
My role as your wellness coach is to assist you in discovering your unique body-mind type so that you can realize your true potential in life. Health and healing begin with you. My vision is to share the wealth of ancient Ayurvedic wisdom in an uncomplicated and applicable way without compromising its authenticity.
As a certified Ayurveda Wellness Coach and Ayurvedic Chef, I also love to help busy working people like you eat your way to better health by creating delicious and balancing meal plans infused with the knowledge of Ayurveda. My mission is to inspire my audience through workshops and individual wellness consultations, with effective and long-term solutions to their health concerns. I hope to make a difference by educating, inspiring, and empowering you to heal in a way that promotes happiness, connectedness and heightened spiritual awareness--eat according to your constitution type. My services include consulting and in-depth, hands-on Ayurvedic cooking workshops. I love to fuse the Mediterranean and Ayurvedic cuisines. My purpose is to bring the Ayurvedic principles for a more natural, and healthy approach into the Mediterranean rich and celebrative culture of food.
Ayurvedic general principles ask us to bring awareness to how, what, and when we eat. And, of course, coming back, to a simpler way of eating and living. It is not just a mix of the ingredients from the two cultures, we like to focus on the whole eating experience for a more natural and healthy approach. The simpler the better.
I believe in living an expansive, peaceful, and fulfilling life. A life where we connect with people and to nature. A life where we measure happiness by our state of being rather than a collection of achievements.
I am a perpetual learner, one who will always be diving in to deepen my understanding of the vast wealth of wisdom about how to live a healthier and more joyful life. I am passionate about self-growth, Ayurveda and nutrition. In April 2024, I started my Ayurvedic Practioner program to specialize more deeply in the Ayurvedic approach to women’s health. This program will take me to India for 6 weeks in Feb 2025 to work closely with Ayurvedic Doctors in clinical internships at Gomantak Ayurvedic Hospital and College in Goa, India, and in Dharamshala, India.
My studies in Ayurveda have introduced me to some amazing gurus, experts, and mentors, such as Myra Lewin, Dr. Victor Briere, A.D., Jennifer Day, CYT, Joseph Rich, CYT, MCLC, Dr. David Frawley, Dr’s Rani and Tarun Gupta and Dr. Suhas Kshirsagar.
